The Being With Dying workshop is based onthe In Life Dying Matters 2018 workshop series. Below are some of the discussion questions discussed during the workshop.
What does the journey with dying and death look like for me or the person I am caring for?
How can I feel more at ease talking about my wishes for end of life care? How can I better care for myself and others during this time?
Who can benefit from attending these workshops? These workshops are ideal for those who provide support and care to the dying or bereaved. Attending one of the workshops can also assist those who are preparing for their own dying and death, or those preparing to care for another who is at the end of their life.
"The group setting provided a safe space where all can be who they are without judgment.I felt I was in a circle of friends although most were strangers. Conversations about dying and death can be so difficult but are so needed in our community. I learned a lot regarding who would be my substitute decision maker and the importance of their role. The workshops were very informative and left me wanting more. I was moved by the simplicity of the closing ritual and it's impact on my own healing through my grief. Thank you. I am looking forward to the next session."
